Mandurah is a coastal city in the Australian state of Western Australia. It is located around 72 kilometres south of the state capital, Perth, and has a population of roughly 60,000. It is the second most populous city in the state, after Bunbury, with a population of around 117,000 people, placing it ahead of the latter.

Mandurah- An Environmentally Friendly Region

Since 2014, the city has built 17 solar photovoltaic systems on the rooftops of city owned buildings. This system has a combined capacity of 643 kW, resulting in an annual carbon reduction of 836 tonnes CO2-e. By 2026, they plan to have completed another 190kW of solar systems. In the same year, they also started a city wide LED retrofitting project that lowered maintenance costs and minimise landfill waste. LEDs also last five times longer than incandescent bulbs. It also delivers higher quality illumination, making outdoor spaces safer and more entertaining.

For The Hikers

There are many walking and hiking trails just waiting to be discovered in Mandurah. Len Howards Conservation Park, Riverside Heart Walk, Island Point Walk, and one even called “Instagram Trails” for all the Instagrammers out there. Alternatively, ride your bike or one of the new ebikes that will soon be available for hire from the Visitor Centre in the heart of town down along the seaside trails.

Mandurah Waterways Exploration

At Mandjar Bay, you may rent a waterbike if you like the water. It’s one of Mandurah’s newest methods of moving around on the water. Are you looking for something different, fun, and exciting? Take a tour of the region by sailing kayak a little farther out of Mandurah, via the picturesque wetlands and national parks; it’s well worth it, and you’ll learn a lot from your local tour operators.

Pristine and Uncrowded Beaches

Mandurah offers it all! Whether you’re looking for a family friendly day at the beach, a stroll down the shore viewing shells and marine life, or an outstanding surf location. Here are a few of our favourites.

Falcon Bay, Falcon

Residents of Falcon like this lovely bay on Spinaway Parade. It’s ideal for spending the day swimming and resting by the sea because it’s north facing and shielded from the southerly winds.

There are also shady grassed areas, picnic tables, BBQs, a playground, and toilet/shower facilities nearby, as well as the famed Falcon Bay Beach Cafe, which serves everything from coffee and cake to a hearty meal with views of the ocean.

It’s also a fantastic place for paddlers because of the calm seas. It also has a high tide reef area for exploring or snorkelling, as well as a pontoon off the coast in the summer.

Dawesville's Pyramids Beach

This Dawesville beach, which is popular with both locals and visitors, has a steady wave and a lot of interesting things to do on the beach almost all year.

This site is always popular with surfers, swimmers, and bodyboarders for a good reason since it is patrolled by the Port Bouvard Surf Life Saving Club.

There is ample parking space, public restrooms and showers, and shelters, as well as a 1.4 kilometre stretch of beach with a trail winding through the dunes that are perfect for hikers and bikers.

Lido Beach, Dolphin Quay

This man made swimming facility, also known as Marina South Harbour Beach, is ideal for children and families.

Lido Beach is especially enjoyable for children, with lots of sand to play in and a large pavilion to protect them from the sun’s rays.

It also adjoins Keith Holmes Reserve, which has playgrounds, BBQs, and all day parking, making it a popular picnic and adventure site in Mandurah.

As if it couldn’t get any better, it’s also close to the Marina, where you’ll find a variety of restaurants, cafés, and marketplaces.
